Studies show that the relationship between therapist and client is ultimately the most important aspect of therapy. One size does not fit all. I work within the context that seems appropriate with each individual, always respecting my client's input into this collaborative process.
Mindfulness is a central component in the way I work. It is cognitive in nature and works well with most modalities of therapy. Acceptance Cognitive Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic therapy, which explores how the past affects the present, Sensorimotor psychotherapy, which focuses on how emotions are stored in the body, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) are the most common methods I employ.
